This spring, Newark town centre will be transformed after dark as Garden of Light brings an evening of colour, creativity and shared experience to the heart of the town. Taking place on Saturday 7 March, Garden of Light is a free, family-friendly celebration of light, marking the transition from winter into spring. Illuminated installations, projections, live performances and interactive moments will fill the streets, inviting visitors to explore, pause and take part together. Rooted in themes of renewal, growth and community, Garden of Light brings local people, artists and organisations together to create a joyful evening where the town centre becomes a space for wonder, connection and creativity.

As night falls, the town centre will come alive with moments of surprise, spectacle and participation. A highlight of the evening will be the Bloom Parade, where spring-themed lanterns created by local schools, community groups and workshop participants are carried through the town as a shared moment of light and movement. Local businesses and venues will be open during the event, offering food and drink throughout the evening.
